I applied in NSC 485/EAD/AP on July 27th. The case was transfered to CSC. 485 Application was then transfered to TSC from CSC but EAD and AP are being processed in CSC.

a self serving proposal..
MS is just a pretext for many who are here. MS is worthless if you are a software engineer.. you don't need MS to be coding in Java or .NET...
MS from some vague sidey backstreet community college cannot be compared to MS from other better off schools.
your proposal is distracting from the main agenda. CIR or other relief measures.
Agreed, but still there is a quota in place for STEM graduates in H1-B regardless of the university rating/quality. The law makers/USCIS approved it - so there must be something in it that appeals to them. In my opinion, it would be much easier to work on extending this benefit to GC process as well (its mutually acceptable for both the establishment and applicants since we already have a precedent in the H1-B system). Hypothetically speaking if an additional quota of 20K is created for STEM graduates, it will help every one involved. Not the perfect solution, but probably one of the most practical and likely to be approved one.
People with STEM degrees will probably get their GCs done faster which to some may appear unfair. But under the cuurent circumstances, what other options do we have?!?Status quo which means, every one is stuck or a separate quota so that at least the queue keeps moving?

Yes. I did check with me lawyer. She didn't receive yet.
Ok. Try this:
If you have created a login as customer in USCIS website at @ https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp.
As soon as you log in you can see the last updated date of your case.
You may atleast know if something changed on your cases internally based on this LUD
Good Luck.

Does any body think of people who did not get a chance to file I-485 who had earlier priority date(2002-mar 2005) ?
Nag, you mentioned in one of the posts that your wife has a PhD in CSE. Why can't she join a university as a Post doctoral fellow (PDF)? I do not know what type of work authorization is required for that, but my guess is she can easily get it. She gets paid and will have a chance to apply under EB1 category which is almost always current. You can file as dependent. No point whining about folks discussing their EAD/AP issues. Everyone knows BEC guys got a short shrift in this.

I will be sending the following note to my senator and have already posted it to WhiteHouse.gov. I urge all those screwed by the ongoing retrogression to do the same.
"I am writing to inform you of how the country based quotas imposed on Employment Based green cards are unfair and totally illogical. When I immigrated to the US, I believed that this country was a meritocracy where you were judged based on your abilities and qualities. These country based quotas reward people depending on where they or their ancestors were born. This causes people from India and China to wait over a decade to get a green card whereas someone from another country with similar or lesser abilities can obtain permanent residence in half that time.
Since these EB category based green cards are awarded for professional skills, imposing a country based quota just does not make any sense. I urge you to work with Congress and change this discriminatory policy and reinforce that America is truly a society that celebrates meritocracy."
You joined today just to post this?
Dude you need to first fill your profile details and earn some credibility before you ask people to do something.

PMP is a certification and is merely to Project and People Management. MBA is a Graduate Degree and pertains to Business Management. One cannot and should not compare a certification to a Degree.
In several responses people have compared MBA and PMP, I don't these two are comparable. Any thoughts?

So if I'm understanding it correctly. For all the ones who applied for I-140 after May15th 07 all there petitions will be cancelled or revoked? I really that should come from the USCIS as a amendment and not from a news or a blog. I have been browsing the website and yet to find it. Can someone help me out with the exact text from USCIS?
instead of trolling the web looking for USCIS announcements
the bill is not yet law, how do you expect to find USCIS notification of anything? no one knows what the final law will be after the house and conference committee finish their parts. so do the necessary thing and let's try to get the best bill possible.

We got FP notices for me & my wife on 01-25-08. Finger printing date is Feb 6th, 2008. Same date, same time for both of us. Just perfect!
We filed our I-485 application/EAD/AP on July 6th, 2007.
Ours is a transferred case (NSS-CSC-NSC).
Did not open any service request.
Looks like they started processing transferred cases.
People who have been waiting should be getting their FP notices now.

Contributed $300 so far..

Please cite the source for the claim that an applicant has some sort of a choice about the skin test. I disagree with your claim for the following three reasons.
(1) See instructions to form I-693 (the medical form): http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693.pdf "Applicants two years old or older will be required to have a tuberculin skin test."
(2) Also, while this next link is less authoritative than USCIS's link above, see this page on murthy: http://www.murthy.com/news/n_tbtest.html (dated mid May)
(3) Note also the USCIS memo (dated April) that went into effect by mid June:
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/RFEFactSheet041207.pdf
This states that, unlike earlier, petitions filed without initial evidence are more likely to be rejected than to be RFE-ed. (See towards end of first page). "To avoid denial, USCIS urges applicants and petitioners to file complete
applications with all of the required initial evidence. The initial evidence for each application and petition type is clearly listed on the form instructions and in the regulations."
As always, please read the instructions to the forms. Most questions will have answers there.
And if the original poster found any of the answers in this thread useful, consider contributing to IV.
Thanks Anai for providing the confirmation!

Every employment based immigrant who aspires to settle here in US to realize their American dream for their kids better future like the way you think.. if America doesn't welcome him, he will look for competitive job in some other country where he is welcomed or he will go back to his own mother country... if you don't promote the insource of worlds best talent in to US economy...that job will be outsourced for sure in couple of years...young talents on the other side of the planet are working like rocket scientists with innovative engineering brain to keep their economies rising to reach number one position in the world...if you observe the salaries these days in India and china..they are on par with US jobs and more in some companies..there will be no stand to mentality of the people once they struggle for their existence with the job and other issues in the life...it goes with money mostly......if you think on the other side like if govt welcomes those same young talents who can create jobs and can help US economy to continue its journey with out putting per country limit for in sourcing the talent..
If Indian bureaucracy is improved, corruption is drastically reduced and transparency is increased, India is the best place. But will this happen with this corrupt minded, useless and nasty politicians?

I wanted to find about pre approved or pre adjudicated case, We have been hearing the same more often in the forum, so out of curiosity i opened a Service Request.
I kind of have a good relation ship with the former employer, worked with them for 4 years. I just called my company HR and he said he does not know my name is on withdrawn list but he will check the list and let me know tomorrow.
Is it just out of curiosity you inquired about your pending 485?
Do you have a good relationship with your former employer? If so, you can ask them and verify if they withdrew your I-140...in any case that should not matter as long as you have passed the 6 months period after applying I-485.

The only thing seems to be happening is that they are transferring cases from NSC/TSC to CSC/VSC for EADs, APs and I-485s for data entry and EAD/AP approval.
CSC seems to be doing a great job at that (received EADs and APs in exactly 60 days). Once these are issues and the I-485 data is fed in, the I-485 jurisdiction is passed back to NSC/TSC (wherever your I-485 originated from).
I am still waiting on my I-140 approval (filed in March 2007)...hoping to get it by around end of year.

Thanks. she is still working for the same employer who sponsored her H1. Now, she needs to continue maintaining relation and continue working working them.
I am still worried though.. I read in this and other forums that USCIS may issue RFE asking for proof and if says medical leave, then asking for medical records etc.. So, better to prepare for some 'solid' answer with any loopholes by being honest. I do not think lying would help and may lead to more troubles.
never lie, it can come back to bite u in the rear
