As you say that the illegal immigrant lobby gets hundreds of thousands of dollars per month. Do you think any illegal immigrant is contributing this money. They work for minimum wages and have hardly any money to spare.
I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs.
Yes true, the hispanic groups is also about 50 million in size. I'm sure these businesses are breaking some law in funding, besides employment.
There are large organizations that support our cause too, especially IT. They played a big part in positive H1 reform. Not sure if they were approached or they work independently.

Tired of waiting ( PD: August 2001) I finally wrote to both my local congressman and Senator today. My senator is on senate Immigration commitee so lets see what happens. Hopefully something will move.
If this doesnt help I will try Ombudsman next after couple of months. The Ombudsman form has a question of if you have tried through Congressman etc first so we can try and see that.
Guys its so funny when you see ppl with PD of 2003 and 2005 complaining and bitching. Here we have waited 7 + yrs our PD's are current and we are doing OK. Wait sure brings maturity :)

Lou believes in quoting no facts, just bullishly repeating such views. Nobody who disagrees can ever get a word in. I am a specialist physician with multiple degrees and board certifications. I practice in underserved communities, speak fluent English and pay my taxes. My visa status is and always has been legal. Do I meet the Lou standards? I am waiting in an endless line for a green card that keeps me at the bottom based on my country of birth. So much for Lou's cheap labor! Has everyone forgotten his tacit support for outsourcing in his "other professional life"?
Shame on CNN for allowing this. I, for one, have no further interest in this channel.

I am a physician MD currently doing IM residency on H1B. i have a job to start from oct 2007. since PDS for india are now current, i would like to know if my employer can file PERM for a prospective employee now in june. my univerdity lawyer is not clear or rather not willing to file.

I second your opinion. I went to Kinkos for quality of photos. I dont have maline thought for other places wherever people had visited or thought to visiting in future. I had taken photos in 2002 from Kinkos and they were using Polaroid camera those days. I sent those photos for H1B Visa stamping at State Department in DC. It worked that time and I liked Sears as well for their quality work. By the way I took lots of photos in 2004 from Sears for Marriage proposals. Yeah I got marry last year because I sent Good quality photo to my in-law family. You see you get what you pay for..Guys as "LogicLife" says you get priceless GC while you dont want to pay couple of extra bucks....Poor you...

We got our photos from SEARS . It is expensive(36$ for 8 photos ,(no option of ordering just 6 photos) )but quality is great !!!!
tell them you need photo for immigration documentation purpose , they are aware of USCIS requirement.
so if u care about quality go to SEARS ,if u don't care about quality go to CVS

I am planning to send a letter to Ombudsman DHS-7001.
Not sure if there will be any response. Even if there is one, they are going to say that my dates are outside the processing times.
Receipt date: July 9th, 2007
Priority Date: July 19, 2001. EB3. India.
What reason can I write for "Description of your case problem"?
Can I just mention that I am about to incur significant and unusual costs because of this delay?...

Description of problem has to be something suggesting that they are not following their own rules. Mentioning about significant costs etc is not going to fly as that applies to everybody. If Ombudsman believes that your problem is genuine, they send case to the processing center for an answer within 45 days.
Processing Centers claim that they process cases in order they receive. If you know any case (even from this forum) with RD after your RD, which has been processed, write it there, asking them why your case was left out. Centers generally provide a convenient reply, such as PD not current, your case is yet to be reviewed as per receive date sequence (their receive date is what you see on line as "your case was received on...", which may be different from RD on your receipt), etc. Sometimes they wait until your PD is not current any more, as they did in my case. I am not advising anyone anything, I just shared what I did. This time , I did not go through a lawyer.
Something similar happened in Oct'05 and the priority dates remain retrogressed for next almost two year. It was just by stroke of fate it became current now , otherwise the situtation would have persisted.
If my memory serve me right, there were some cases back in Oct'05 whose application were rejected in error but were not allow to refile as PD had retrogressed.
Do what you want to do, I am just sharing what I did and I may be wrong. Personally after having missed one window of opportunity in Oct'05 , I have no capability to take any more risk.
I'm also suffering like you for years but doing a RE-FILE just for managing bad odds is not reasonable. If they reject your application - You should be able to resend it from FEDEX/USPS signature and receipt Notice even after Aug 17th.
I'm not a lawyer and i've nothing against Rajaiv Khanna but on a general i'm advising you that " Any lawyer wants their clients case get complicated and convoluted". By doing this you/we are just complicating our case and offering "Money making" potential to already Rich , Wealthy ,Cut throat Lawyers.

I work for a very large Auto company. Now a days most of the new guys are coming on L1 visas. They work like H1 would work at client.
The biggest thing is the work (vehicle design work) witch was considered not outsourcable till few years back started going to India. Few of the L1 do work here in day time.........send data out when its night here...... the guys who work there in India come to US for 2-3 months to get a feel of design work and then work from India....

Can anyone tell what will be the status of a person who has used AC21 , and does not get the EAD renewal before the existing EAD expires ? Assume 140 has been approved, 180 days has been passed and got the EAD renewal receipt.

When I was trying to file in EB-2, this was the first question that I asked me lawyer -- No matter what, I do not want to get my pending EB-3 case to get in trouble. His answer was -- These two are going to be totally isolated cases. A person can have multiple pending green card applications. Heck, one can have one application in EB category and the second one in FB category. Having two cases together in EB category is fine and the outcome of EB-2 case at any stage would not effect EB-3 case at all. (Again, if USCIS finds that you are in some sort of fraud then it is all together a different case).
What you should not do (coming from lawyer) is do not file two sets of I-485. That is going to screw up your case.
Another suggestion that lawyer gave me and I did not follow is -- Let us say your EB-3 I-140 is pending and you and your wife have EAD and AP. When you start a new EB-2 process, during the I-140 stage, take CP route (Counselor Processing). This is best of both the worlds. You have EAD and AP from EB-3 petition and you are requesting for CP for your EB-2 application. As soon as your dates become current, you will be notified to go to your home country US embassy. Go there with family, get everything done and come back to the US with GC. If S*H*I*T happens there (Which is rate), come back with AP (derived from EB-3 application) and you are back to where you were. By doing this, you just eliminated two things -
1. Interfile is a tricky process. If you could avoid it, avoid it.
2. When dates become current, US embassy would surely look in your case. That process is far better than USCIS + I-485.
Negative point of this route is - you need to make a trip to your home country on a short notice.
Once again, good luck to you all. Just, do not do anything illegal to get GC. Do whatever is permissible under the law and do not even believe your lawyer. Do your own homework.
