Well that is where I would place the blame... Why not use somehere like Flickr or your own hosting to store and serve photos from?

More than likely if I were to take it to the Apple store I'd have restored by then...which hopefully would alleviate the problem at that point.
My main point is, if I have no recourse in my current jailbroken state, what options are the best to restore yet not have to upgrade my firmware (aka losing the chance to jailbreak untethered)

It's based on what Apple is signing, not what's on your phone. I don't know why the OP didn't want to save the blob. If you've got the blob, you can install that ios anytime you want.
can u only save blobs from the current FW that your idevice is on or can u save whatever Apple is signing?

Have you considered buying a DS? I'm not being a zealot here, but the DS has lots of great games. I played through most of Phoenix Write on my last trip. Currently I'm playing Magical Starsign, and will be playing FF3 next.
It's OK to own both portables. I will later this year. They are both small enough to share the same carry on bag. :)

I now use WordPress for my site, after trying to get used to Joomla, CMS Made Simple, Silver Stripe, and a few home brew solutions. WordPress as a CMS is great for very simple stuff, but the more complex you get, the less suitable it becomes. There are plugins that extend its functionality in all kinds of ways, but it begins to feel like a Rube Goldberg machine if you are trying to get to something very specific by throwing two or three plugins together.
Having said that, the site I maintain is fairly simple and needs to be administer-able (is that a word?) by people with limited IT knowledge, so WordPress fits the bill.

In the 1990's, some science departments at Caltech used to use Apple IIs for controlling their lab equipment... Easy programming, lots of uses...

just to clarify, i'm not asking for advice in if I should invest. I understand concerns that apple has hit an all time high, but I strongly believe it will only increase in the next year.

I check Amazon. The 4GB can really only be found with the bundle. You can get a stand alone 250 gig system.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning on coming out with a Thunderbolt-equipped Time Capsule considering they are adding them across the Mac lineup.

Too bad the person stung by the 2 hornets didn't already have his iPhone 4. I'm almost certain that the new iPhone would contain some kind of antidote that would have been very helpful. I guess we will all just have to wait for Thursday!
