Ok...the way I see this is 5000min/month at $25 (not adding taxes) is 5 cents a minutes...that is more than what I pay for my calling cards....bottom line....if your monthly calling bill is less than $ 25 there is no reason why you should get Vonage.
I think your calculation is wrong. 5000mins at $25 is less than a cent for min. Also you should include local phone which we pay minimum $17/month (I think teleblend is cheap I found is 15.99 + tax = 17 per month)

The flower campaign has been a spectacular success. Lets not dilute it or confuse it with food or pizza campaign. Lets the free flow of flower campaign contunue.
There is a symbolism of peaceful protest behind flowers, its universaly understood, what is the symbolism behind sending food, it might be misunderstood. Lets not overdo it.

My Priority date is Jan 2006, EB2-India category having approved I-140. My husband is in EB3-India having pd Jan'2004, already applied I-485 (140 is approved) and got his EAD and AP. He is already using his EAD. I am a dependent in his I-485 but did not use my EAD and still continuing on H1-B.
Since my case is EB2-India which is going to be current in August'2008. Am I eligible to apply for I-485 me being the primary and my husband being my dependent? If so would there be any problem when USCIS adjudicates my case?

Though you are processing through consular processing, can you please verify if you have any reasons ( Birth country, spouse birth country) etc.. to get charged against a category that is current now. If so, it is business as usual, else not sure.. you just got lucky your case is approved, but again .. with pre-adjudication, etc.. we never know.. Anything requested from USCIS, do respond in time.... On the other hand makes me wonder, if the EB2 dates can really advance that much ???? Significant forward movement based on other thread... Anyway good luck.

Initially I ignored this thread as some advertisement. Then I noticed that this thread was staying visible for several days. At the cost of being bombarded by every one in this forum,
if the VB bulletin is indeed "retrogressed" to Pre madness - back to what was supposed to be the next jump from June 2003 (perhaps 6 months or more for EB3 and 2005 for EB2), this would actually be a good thing in my opinion.
What they did by making the VB current is going to have serious consequences a few months down the line. People who have been waiting for years may still not get their turn in line, while others simply jump ahead and take away the visa numbers. People are excited at the short term benefits of EAD/AP but we must look at the long term effects also.
I believe (and im entitled to my own beliefs ) that if anything, USCIS/DOS have actually finally figured out their mistake of making everything current and are now back tracking to what would be a decent situation instead of the floodgates being opened. I dont believe it has anything to do with conspiracy theories or CIR or any such thing.
And btw - i would be one of those people who spent money to get ready for the floodgates and i would also be one of those that gets stuck!

I feel we should have some banners up in different Indian stores, specially targeting some selfish EAD holders, who already feel they got their green cards irrespective of the current visa bulletin
1. Setting up banners will not only attract new members, but will make these EAD holders think from a rational perspective.
2.Also IV administration should send out a personal email to all it members, informing them about the importance of coming together, this way the EAD members who have stopped coming to IV will get the message.
3. We should contact the Indian newspaper editors, to print about our rally on March1st 2009, I believe more awareness we spread a better result we get.

We have to make do with such low cost volunteer work. Someone pointed out that we should contact newspapers and get articles published. Wish it was so easy. We have written tons of mails but that alone does not work. You need to issue press releases and publish them online. Publishing them each online costs a couple hundred dollars by publishing services who distribute, and there is no guarantee it will be picked up. Thus you need a focussed campaign for it. There are services where you can contact reporters and media on a specific topic and send them email, press release directly. If they are already writing article you can know the deadline. If you have an idea, you can pitch a story idea to the reporter directly. A good service I know costs 5K for non profits for one year. If you need access to International reporters database add 2k to it. All this is possible only if we have these kinds of resources. When we can hardly get contributions of 5k in 4 months after collecting $5 each, it is tough to plan a big media campaign. The reason why other big organizations and big anti immigrant orgs can get so much publicity is that they probably can spend their huge resources on such services. They can also afford a full time staff. We do not have all that and run IV along with our full time day time jobs. However, as filings are shuttled between centers in an effort to push work around, when data is entered, a different date appears. This needs to be corrected. Further, as there are still cases not owned by any center, weekly updates are misleading. Each center just reports on what it has accepted to deal with. This needs to be addressed as well.
I think congressmen should be approached with the larger and collective problem, which is likely to get attention/action. Individual cases just receive standard replies.

During this wait for a green card, these immigrants remain trapped in a legal maze, unable to change jobs – even within the same employer – without starting the arduous immigration process over again, and subject to waits that grow longer and longer.
We implore you to exercise your authority to implement administratively these much-needed reforms.
• Recapture administratively the unused visas for permanent residency to fulfill the congressional mandate of 140,000 green cards per year.
• Revise the administrative definition of “same or similar” to allow slight additional job flexibility for legal immigrants awaiting adjudication of adjustment of status (I-485) petitions.
• Allow filing of Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) when a visa number is not available.
• Implement the existing interim rule to allow issuance of multi-year Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) and Advance Parole.
• Allow visa revalidation in the United States.
• Reinstate premium processing of Immigrant Petitions.
I urge you to implement these administrative remedies without delay. Action is urgently needed to fulfill your stated goal of attracting and retaining highly-skilled legal immigrants from around the world, eliminating bureaucratic inefficiency, and improving the lives of future Americans already living and working legally in the United States.
