It happens to me too. Anything too good has always followed by something bad and vice-versa. I am just talking about the pattern. When my LC got approved, my spouse was severly ill and diagnozed with severe un-curable heart condition and is under expensive & tedious treatments now. We have to confront life as it comes and avoid making any hasty decisions based on the situation. That's the main reason, I am desparately waiting for GC, so that we could get better treatments, which I cannot even imagine to get in India.
Anyhow, here is the letter I have drafted to Napolitino. However I would like to stress the point that USCIS has to approve the applications based on PD, but lost for words. (Thanks SoP for your idea of first few sentences in this letter)

I would like to bring to your attention that my Green Card process is unfairly getting delayed despite the fact that all checks and clearances were completed and my application was pre-adjudicated. Above all, visa number is available as well to approve my case.
I, <name>, have filed for I-485 to adjust to permanent resident status on August 17, 2007, based on employment (EB2). My priority date is July 2004 and is current and my case is beyond the stated processing time.
I took infopass appointments twice after our dates became current and raised Service Request 40 days ago. But no action has been taken in our case so far.
I am really frustrated about the long wait, considering the fact that all checks were done and our cases have been pre-adjudicated. My frustration is not only because of the long wait, but the applications with Priority Dates later than our ours like December 2004 and January 2005 were approved. Try a time frame of 4:30-5:30 EST to call the TSC or NSC for that matter...ppl are in a better mood at the end of the day and on thursdays and fridays.....ping your lawyer and ask him or her to intervene......if you know for sure your case is preadjudicated write it strongly in your mails to DHS and others.
I had in fact attached the previous year letters and their responses back to me in my last mail to Napolitano and it was really quite strong.....I am sure it is hard not to take a note of it......I don't mince words and I believe that one should fight for one's rights....

I've been using Lingo for 3+ years, I called them to ask if they are aware(of course they are), rep said within a week they are coming up with a plan that's better than Vonage. unlimited calling to india and 100+ countries for $22.95. Plus i think they are going to include some free minutes every month that you can use to call india from your work or cell phone using a toll free or access # (just like you use Reliance).
Rep said you will receive an email in a week or so about the new offer/plan.
If you are already a Lingo customer I'd wait a week, Lingo has history of beating any competing plan.

A few months back, when there was no visibility when priority dates will become current, my wife had converted from H4 to F1 so that she could work. She is currently working on CPT, and also has applied for OPT, which will start in August.
Now with my priority date June 2002 becoming current, we must decide what to do. My lawyer had told me earlier that filing 485 while on F1 is not advisable.
Has anyone been in similar situation? What is the best way to take advantage of priority dates, so that my wife does not have to be away from job for a long time.

WiFi is 2.4 GHZ.
5.8 GHZ phone will have many disadvantages.
The BEST choice for cordless phone for range, and lack of interfearance is a DECT phone.. the 1.9Ghz range is a licenced radio frequency for the exclusive use of cordless phones, unlike any other cordless phone frequency (900Mhz, 2.4Ghz, 5.8Ghz.) and as it is lower in frequency (aside from 900 Mhz) it operates with the furthest distance than any cordless phone.

My Guess is , It is a rumour . since the USCIS suspended the I -140 Premium Service for the month of july . It clearly indicates they are aware/expecting many of the I -485 filings from July 1st and do not want to promise I- 140 decision in 15 days during July .
Yes, I am of the same opinion. USCIS wants to stop the premium processing for I-140 only because it anticipates large volume for I-485. I don't see why it would stop the cash-cow (premium processing) and stop taking I-485s too!!!

Received the physical card and the welcome notice on mail yesterday for self and welcome notice for my wife. Status still under initial review for self and for wife it is under post decision.
Came to US in early 2001
Applied first labor in 2003 and labor went to backlog elimination center
Joined another company in 2005
Started new labor under perm process in 2006
Labor and I-140 approved in 2006
Applied I485 in July 2007
Opened SR on 9/1/2010
Went to Infopass on 9/13/2010, was told that we have to wait and we will get an interview letter.
Contacted Senator's office - Told to wait for 4 week for someone to contact us from the senator's office, only 2 weeks has passed.
Sent email to NSC follow up - ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov
Sent email to SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov

1. If a Receipt Number is issued for a I-485, does it necessarily mean that the case won't outright be rejected for a missing document/ evidence, but instead an RFE will be issued?
2. When a receipt number is issued for a I-485, and if we send out the missing document/initial evidence using the allocated A#, is there a good likelihood that the evidence/document will make it to the appropriate file?
Answers to these will help make a decision on filing multiple I-485's where the first I-485 missed some initial evidence.

One more thing: I was about to make another private consultation call today. I pledge contributing $200 if I find a concrete answer to this issue without having to consult one more lawyer.

As far as EAD is concerned, the employers shouldn't discriminate. Especially if more than 90 days are left on it since that's the time-frame govt promises to issue a new EAD. The employer might feel better to work with a citizen or GC or a person of certain ethnic background or national origin. However, thats the kind of decisions the employer is not allowed to make. Employer has to accept EAD, everything else being equal. When the law is not followed and it harms us, we have to fight it back.
I realize employers sometime end up asking questions that they shouldn't like the obvious ones such as age and marital status.

I saw posts of several members extremely skeptical of the whole idea, even went on calling it stupid, crazy and useless. Some made mockery suggesting sending dead fish etc. I don't see any more posts from them.

I have to travel to India this month and still in a dilemma whether to take a Visa appointment or to travel on AP, I don't see many experiences from Delhi consulate so having difficulty in deciding.
Please post any experiences related to PIMS delay at Delhi consulate.

What are you talking about? this is not a good news, we will decide that after May Visa Bulletin. For now just read that as a publicity stunt from lawyers and forget about it.

Most of these immigration lawyers are having hard time these days and are not making as much money as they once used to. This could very well be a publicity stunt for creating a scene that eb2 is going to move very fast so that more eb3 will work on porting, thereby making big bucks for lawyers. Wait until you get your greencard in hand.
