Hi All-
Any ideas where can I get the latest specs for the individual photos (I485 filing purpose). I searched the web but couldn't find a USCIS document. I heard they no longer accept the 75 degree looking face.

Shouldn't the photographer know about it? I get my passport size photos taken at costco. I think they make sure that photographs adhere to the standard.

It is told that most of the July 2 filings are waiting, but July 17 filings have received RN. Perhaps it all depends where USCIS folks put bundles of applications initially meant for rejection/return. I am also one of the July 2 filers still waiting
OR MAY be... (just an another option).. that our application (jinxed stack of application recd. on 2nd july 2007) are still lying in the janitorial dept or may be quarantine dept. .. you never know..

Hi,
One of my friend is working in L1 on Informatica tool for one of the financial client.
Does it mean that his company is violationg rules?
His company is harrassing much for some personal reason and asking him to come back home country
what action he can take against his company if his company viaolating L1 rules.
Please anyone come across this situation then give us your suggestion.

I dont understand why people even bother to fly through BA. As soon as they say "transit visa" which means additional hassle..bye bye BA. We get strained enough with this 35 hour flights..we dont need any more headaches..they have a right to impose rules.(based on what's happening in their country)..and we have our right to choose..I would rather spend an extra couple of hours and fly through Singapore airlines, hassle free.

Overcome your fears, If you don't ask answer is no. No one before July 2007 thought that dates will become current for all categories but it did happened.
To me it seems a genuine demand, We need to bring this arguement/demand forward in very rational way keeping emotions aside.
Remember, This is in addition to whatever we are doing to expedite the GC.

How many times in this thread I have mentioned that I am getting replaced by one of these L-1B resource, I am a poor Oracle/DB developer who fortunately cannot be replaced by L-1B visa resources (as my skills is a common technical one). So once these violations impact your day to day life you look around for ways to stop this fraud. Its true that if I was a Nuero Surgeon in Phily or a Astro Scientist in Houston I wouldn't be interested in this violation :-) .... tomorrow let this scenario happen to you ... you would be first one to raise the alert.
Regarding 'getting burnt', I don't think there is bigger burn than loosing our jobs (which already is happening) and hope you know that there is something called 'anonymity'... ya lets see whos going to get 'burnt' here. We'll definetly keep you updated regarding the outcome.

Yet you don't seem to have an issue that you have applied in EB2 - exceptional ability / advanced degree. At this time, you are likely holding a H1B status - a speciality occupation visa. Something does not add up now, does it?.
However, I'm with you on wanting to stop L1 visa abuse (and H1 visa abuse as well). There needs to be a more definitive way of knowing L1 visa is being misused to replace US citizens and green-card workers.

I think Matthew Oh should closed his site to do some actual work.
Why kill the messenger ?? Yesterday when the possibility of mid month retrogression was brought up every one said it is nonsense. Now every one seems to be accepting and reconciling to the fact that there is a possibility that mid month retrogression might happen.
Give it a day and see as it unfolds. Although I hope this is NOT TRUE , I will not be surprised if this is TRUE. It is better we know about it in advance, how depressing this might be, than caught by surprise.

Hi pakrish, similar situation here. My wife's gc has the gender mentioned incorrectly. From what I've researched, we need to file for I-90 and choose option D - correction in green card. There are no fees required as it's a USCIS mistake but the original card needs to be sent with the form.

Massive IV campaign for Administrative fixes
Dear Members,
Immigration Voice is starting a massive campaign to get administrative relief for our community. We have had several fruitful meeting with the administration in 2007, some of these meetings were scheduled in September, November and then in December. In these meetings, we were able to convince the administration about the implication and hardship due to current broken system. Since Congress has not been able to address our issues in 2006-07, we were successful in creating a case for administrative fixes that would give much needed interim relief to EB community. These meetings helped us start a conversation on possible administrative fixes like 3 year EAD-AP, clearly defining “same or similar” if AC-21 is invoked, and we are hearing favorable feedback.
Due to lack of action on legislative front our community’s patience is running out and we want some relief urgently to get out of probationary status. We are thus starting this nationwide campaign that will help our advocacy efforts and get administration to act quickly. There are several components to this campaign.
1) Support from lawmaker offices: We urge all our members to meet their lawmaker offices and get them to write to The President in support of administrative fixes and urging for an immediate administrative relief. The template of the letter is attached. Letters from lawmaker offices to administration get far more attention as compared to anybody else writing the same letter. The template of the letter is posted below. Please request lawmakers to give you a copy of the letter or lawmakers could copy IV on their letter to The President. Yes but on Monday morning it is NOT going to be current appantly. So, technically you did not send documents ( if you are getting it out on MONDAY) when they were current.
Just imagine, overnight bulletin was revised, what should we do? They did change it,if you know what I mean?
Guys this is a revision to the July Visa Bulletin. Meaning, even if the revision happens on July 29th to the July Visa Bulletin, it holds good for entire july.
This is not August bulletin.

Damn this green card-If its true-What are they thinking screwing our lives-torture-saddistic I hate this man-thats the limit-all these years we wait-they have no word of honour-selfish cruel people.
I always thought, the system was fair, it was only the overwhelming numbers of immigrants from certain countries that made it look unfair....but the closer I get to the stage where DOS decisions start impacting me, the more I realize that the system is not fair at all. The game of visa numbers and allocations is driven by white house politics alone...DOS being the spokesperson for the politics. I wouldn't say they are cruel, but they are certainly selfish..and are bent on sucking the blood of would be immigrants/working non-immigrants...the best way to prevent this from happening is to not come here....let the Indians/Chinese completely stop coming here on H1s/L1s and then we'll see how far can America fly...
Back home we spend so much for our govt for our own education -here no respect for us-I feel really hurted this time-Staying at home in H4 is a torture-
So, what made you import yourself here? You could have stayed back in your own country..by the way, coming on a H4 was a choice..it wasn't forced upon you...didn't you know before coming here that you would have to stay home on a H4? H4->F1, H4->H1...all these options are always open to you..
I always thought, the system was fair, it was only the overwhelming numbers of immigrants from certain countries that made it look unfair....but the closer I get to the stage where DOS decisions start impacting me, the more I realize that the system is not fair at all. The game of visa numbers and allocations is driven by white house politics alone...DOS being the spokesperson for the politics. Godbless, I am sure you can get your post 6 years H-1B extension based on the Cornin and new Aytes memo of 12-5-2006. Can you ask your lawyer whether it is possible to file your H-1B extension after 01/26/2007 but BEFORE June 2007 or it must be filed before the expiry of your parolee I-94? Also, you said the Immigration Officer at the POE did not let you use your H visa but the AP. Is it because you showed him both of your H-1B visa and AP? If you did not show the AP, he would probably let you enter with the H-1B visa, right?
Sorry for my knowledge but why would anyone need an AP if he has ample time left on H1 ? Is it a rule that after filing I-485 , you have to have an AP to travel ?

If I am correct, your PDs are current, right? Do you guys know if your case was pre-adjudicated and/or assigned to an IO? I keep reading from the forums that some apps with PDs as late as Dec 2004 and a couple of Jan 2005 got approved. Wondering why the earlier (eg. mine is July 04) not approved yet. Could we all join togther and write a letter to Napolitino(Thanks to SoP for the idea) and ask her to take some action on our cases?
in resent SR, IO said my case is pre adjudicated and under review. we asked what's that mean, he doesn't know - if it's under review then how preadjudicated?
i send request to senator before 2 weeks, but still no change in LUD and no reply.:confused:
