Folks,
I would like to run a questions by you guys/gals. I am getting ready to file my I-485 application. My lawyer requested that I find all copies of my I-20, OPT EAD, H1-B's etc. My question is do we have to submit copies of I-20, and OPT EAD for the Adjustment of status (I-485) stage ? Please let me know what you think ?
I-20 is from a university that accept students in the US. The F1 student visa is issued based on the I-20.

If EB2 row perm hits 10000 apps thats it pd wont move a bit. That will happen as soon as hiring starts again. This will happen any time, if this not happen until sep 2010, then EB2 has a chance. There are about 15000 (approx) EB2 Row apps siiting ducks in Perm centers, if ROW PErm eb2 approvals start flowing then we are just stuck. It all depends on EB2 Row Now. That is the one we need to watch closely.
Even if the economy improves, it will take some time to plan the recruitment, then hiring people and then they will take sometime to start the PERM process and then filing it and getting the approval. FOr all these things to happen, it will be a minimum of one year ad even it may cross two years. Don't bother too much about this.
I prefer the economy to improve over getting GC, if economy is good we will not have to worry about getting a Job if laid off and also, if we have EAD we can change jobs easily and many of the problems without the GC are not that siginificant then.

This is the email I got.

There is no change in my wife's 485 status. But her EAD is approved. There is no mention of card production in the email. Looks like lot of people got the CPO email directly with post decision activity. Can somebody confirm the sequence in which it happens? How long does it take for the card to arrive? USCIS has to work in FIFO process not RIRO(Random In Random Out)... So they can't send Receipt Notice to Aug 17th filer and then look for July 2nd filer. I sent my concern to congressmen? Now choice is your? I can't force you or USCIS for any action but i can do what ever possible by me.. :)
PS: PD: July 2001 and waiting approx 8 years for GC where my friends are applying for citizenship, if they choose to do so. :)
Question is that there are so many July 2 filers (including me) who have not got any response yet. Therefore, it is not an isolated case. I don't know if emailing to the Director does any good, as long as USCIS keeps admitting that they have not yet sent all receipts (inspite of weekly bulletins). Until 90 days are over, I guess, USCIS will be unresponsive to individual inquiries.

My $0.02. This could be a pre-emptive measure on the part of AILA. There must have been some talk at the state department of mid-month regression. This might be a strategy to scotch that. Raise a ruckus and send a message that we are prepared to file a law suit. Who knows? We are mere pawns in this grand game. Whatever happens, I hope people keep some perspective and not lose sleep over this.

You simply can not accept higher skill level based promotion like that. I think you should first sit down with a good lawyer and find out the solution of this already created mess and then think about interfiling.
Based on all info you provided it looks like our cases are not similar. I have already new approved I-140 - EB2 base - approved in year 2006. My 485 is attached to EB3.

Yes , I did see that, but at what point do they consider this as "inventory" -- waiting for visa having pre-adjudicated (gosh, I hope not!) or as we all are thinking -- applications that have reached the agency...

I have a WAC number and petition approved in Feb 07. Stuck here for 1 month, 18 days and counting. I called DOS and didn't receive a positive response. Will try calling KCC tomorrow.

if more people post their details then we might be able to conclude something.. there are always exceptions so it is very difficult to figure out.. (well, it might be possible that there is no pattern but if we get more details of more cases then we can think something... after all we can't do anything apart from this ...:mad: )

Just now I spoke to customer service regarding the offer and they said that it is for existing customers for now....may be they will make it available soon for all......
As per my conversation with Customer Supprt is that she sugested me to sign up with 4.95plan and after 30 days I am eligible for Hello World Max plan (Unlimited calling for 101 countries)

On an unrelated note, is there anything to gain from writing to congressmen and asking them to check on the case when it is current?
What do you state in the letter while requesting them to check with USCIS? I remember some folks did write to their congressmen last year around June/july when they were current.

Processing : Consular
Today i received a mail from NVC to pay immigration processing fee of $794.
Does any ones what is this for ? does it help to know the demand ?

Though you are processing through consular processing, can you please verify if you have any reasons ( Birth country, spouse birth country) etc.. to get charged against a category that is current now. If so, it is business as usual, else not sure.. you just got lucky your case is approved, but again .. with pre-adjudication, etc.. we never know.. Anything requested from USCIS, do respond in time.... On the other hand makes me wonder, if the EB2 dates can really advance that much ???? Significant forward movement based on other thread... Anyway good luck.

Once we have recapture we can start pushing USCIS to follow FIFO on PD. but to do that first we need numbers.

As a hypothetical example (because vehicle prices always depreciate, so please ignore the reality), let's say you bought that Gas guzzling SUV at 50k and now suddenly after 2 years, due to whatever reason, you go and try to sell the same SUV to the same dealer and he quotes you 5k. Wouldn't you fault that dealer for selling you the same thing at 50k when the actual value of the same asset 2 year back was 5k (but he sold you at 50k and you have only paid back 10k in monthly installments until now). Who is to blame for that 35k deficit? You? Forget the monthly payments here and concentrate on the actual asset value.
You forgot that dealer is also making 5K for the SUV that he bought from manufacturer for $50,000. In the end everyone lost 35K. So dealer will loose multiples 35K based on how many SUV he has in his inventory. You might suggest he should go to the manufacturer ?

What about people with DUI etc? Do they stuck in Name Check Process? I take it the process is different them and they have to go through clerance for Finger Prints.

Be ready with the following supporting documents. My attorney asked the following:
1. Personal Details -
(Travel Plans in the next 3 months, Moving Plans in the next 6 months, Contact Information, Passport and I-94 info, Employment Hisotry - Last 5 years+ Last job ouside US, Residence History - Last 5 years + last residence outside US, LC, I-140, EAD and details, and a few other questions, etc)
2. Passport copies- all pages, current, all old.
3. All I-20, I-94, I-797, LC, I-140 copies
4. Birth Certificates or Birth Affidavits
5. Marriage Certificate or Marriage Affidavits -
6. Sealed Medical Exam Cover - I-693
7. 6 photos for adults ( 4 if under 14)
8. Photocopy of current I-94
9. Divorce Certificate (if applicable)
Happy Filing.
